Mother's Day means something different to every woman who celebrates it. For some it is breakfast in bed and handmade cards. For others it is a quiet moment of reflection on how far they have come. For many it is both and everything in between.
At The Lullaby Club, we have always believed that motherhood deserves to be celebrated in all its forms. Not just the picture-perfect moments, but the real ones. The hard ones. The ones that change you.
This year, we shot our Mother's Day campaign at one of the most special locations we have ever worked with, Miss Midgley's. When we got to know the story behind it, we knew we had to share it with you.

Meet Miss Midgley's
Miss Midgley's is a boutique guesthouse with a story that feels very familiar to anyone who has ever built something from the ground up, alongside someone they love.
It was created by a mother and daughter duo. A 32 year age gap between them. Two different generations, two different perspectives and one shared vision: to create a space where every guest feels something deeply the moment they arrive.
Sound familiar? It felt like home to us too.
We reached out to the owner to ask her a few questions about motherhood, legacy and what it means to build something meaningful alongside family. What she shared stopped us in our tracks.

On What Mother's Day Means Now
"Mother's Day has taken on a different meaning over the last few years. It is a time for pride in myself. All the years of hard work on the journey of motherhood, the sacrifices, the joys, and the strength it takes to nurture both a family and build a career. At this stage of life, it feels like a full-circle moment."
– Lisa, Owner of Miss Midgley's
We think a lot of women in our community will read that and feel it in their chest. Because motherhood is not a season. It is a lifetime of showing up and you deserve to feel proud of that.

On Building Something Alongside Family
"Being a creative mother-daughter team with a 32 year age gap was always going to be interesting. Our creativity, her enthusiasm and my experience. We both wanted every guest to feel something deeply when they arrived."
"Our dynamic allowed us to challenge and support each other in equal measure and that has led to a space that feels both thoughtfully curated and personal. It is not just a boutique guesthouse. It is an extension of our relationship and shared vision."
– Lisa, Owner of Miss Midgley's
The Lullaby Club was also built by a mother and daughter. Kevina and Marisa. So when we read those words, we felt them differently. There is something about building with someone you love that changes the way you pour yourself into it.

On Legacy, Love and Letting Go
"Building a business with family teaches you that legacy is not just about what you create, but how you create it. You must have the confidence to stand back and let your child make a call, even if you know it is maybe not right because it is the only way for them to learn."
"Working so closely together requires patience and trust, but it also strengthens your bond in a way few other experiences can. Leadership becomes more about listening, supporting, and growing together. It is a reminder that success is richer when it is shared."
– Lisa, Owner of Miss Midgley's
We could not have said it better ourselves.
On Balancing Ambition and Motherhood
This is the one we know so many of you needed to hear. Because we hear from women in our community every single day who are building businesses, raising families and trying to hold it all together.
"Motherhood is for your entire life, not just the few years when they are tiny humans. Be gentle with yourself. It is a long race. There is no perfect balance. Just some days are better than others. Some days your business will need you more, and other days your family will. Trust that both can coexist."
"Most importantly, do not lose sight of why you started. Your ambition and your motherhood are not in conflict."
– Lisa, Owner of Miss Midgley's
Read that again. Your ambition and your motherhood are not in conflict.

On Getting Dressed and Feeling Like Yourself
We had to ask. Because it is at the heart of everything we make.
"When you are balancing so many roles, what you wear should never feel like another challenge. Comfort and confidence go hand in hand. When you feel at ease, it allows you to show up fully for whatever the day holds. To open your wardrobe and feel confident that your clothing choice is going to work removes another stressful moment from the day."
– Lisa, Owner of Miss Midgley's
That is exactly why we make what we make. We cannot take the hard moments away. But we can make sure getting dressed in the morning is not one of them.
On the Future of Miss Midgley's
"We hope it feels like stepping into a place where time slows down. We want people to leave feeling restored, inspired and cared for. Carrying a little piece of that experience with them long after they have gone."
– Lisa, Owner of Miss Midgley's
That is the kind of space we want TLC to be too. Not just a brand you shop with. A community that restores you a little, every time you come back to it.

To Every Version of Mum
To the new mums still figuring it out. To the mums who have been doing it for decades and are still learning. To the mums building businesses alongside their babies. To the daughters who watched their mothers and became something extraordinary because of it.
This one is for you.
Happy Mother's Day from The Lullaby Club.
